Tradition, quality and innovation

Castelmerlino was founded in 1976, taking its name from an ancient agricultural property near Mantua, where the company's production facilities are located today.

Business began in order to satisfy the need of campers in the 1970's: wooden footboards and caravan verandas. From the beginning larch wood was chosen for its indisputable qualities of strength and durability when in contact with moisture. Folding tables and their accompanying seats, camping chairs and benches and stools were soon added. Thanks to major trade fairs suchas Calenzano and Turin, early products spread all over Italy througha network of dealers with a great sales success.

The company's growth was soon accompanied by major suppliers whose association with Castelmerlino continues even now, taking advantage of years of shared experience and a continuous exchange of ideas and knowledge. The different processes have evolved as has the choice of raw materials. It was a natural direction for a company specializing in the use of larch wood to move onto shower footbaords and later towards other accessories and bathroom aids.

Concern for the environment has led Castelmerlino to engage in sustainability. In 2009 it was certified for the PEFC Chain of Custody and began producing a line of eco-friendly products.

The current production has had to adapt to the needs of a more advanced and less "handcrafted" market, through continuous improvement of products and responding carefully to the needs of consumers. Thus the entire line of bathrom accessories has been certified by TÜV GS to meet the needs of quality and safety.

Castelmerlino remains faithful to the philosophy that has inspired it since the beginning: exploit the remarkable strength and aesthetic properties of larch wood with respect and attention to quality in order to put them at the service of mankind.
